Patch 1.07 Language Crash WorkaroundBy Victor Zuylen on Dec 27, 2013 6:00:00 PM
Last weekend we launched Patch 1.07, which adds team voice chat and a host of other improvements to Killzone Shadow Fall. Unfortunately, the patch also introduces a bug that can cause non-English downloadable versions of Killzone Shadow Fall, including the trial version currently available from the PlayStation Store, to crash. Read on to learn how to circumvent this problem.
The crash occurs when you attempt to join a Warzone in a non-English downloadable version of the game without installing the game’s English language pack first. To prevent this from happening, please take the following steps:
From the Main Menu, click on the Options button to enter the Options Menu.
Use L1/R1 to switch to the Language Tab.
In the Language Tab, use the left and right buttons on the D-pad to switch to the English language.
Press Triangle and confirm to download the English language pack.
Once the English language pack has been downloaded, you can safely switch back to your original language setting - the English language pack only needs to be installed, not active.
A patch to properly correct the issue is in the works, but won’t be ready until early next year due to the holiday break. However, this workaround will ensure that you’ll be able to play your downloaded version of Killzone Shadow Fall online and take full advantage of the upcoming extended Open Weekend multiplayer trial.
